Setting up your organization
Locations, departments, and services.
Create the organization
Sign up as Clinic or multiple providers. You provide the organization's name and details and become its Owner. You're asked whether you also treat patients there — if so, you get a Doctor membership alongside Owner.
Locations
A location is a first-class place, not just a city name. Each has:
- Country, region/state, city, address, postcode
- Latitude and longitude (used for distance search — "near me", within 5 km, within 20 km)
- Timezone (normally derived from the location, not set by hand)
- Contact details
Add every place you operate from. Doctors are affiliated to specific locations, and patients book against the location.
Departments
Larger organizations use departments — Cardiology, Radiology, Laboratory — as first-class units. A department can have its own services, staff, schedules, locations, and availability.
Organization
├── Cardiology ECG · Echocardiogram · Cardiology consultation
├── Radiology X-Ray · MRI · CT
└── Laboratory Blood tests · Urine tests · Hormone panels
A solo office simply has no departments.
Services
A service is what a patient books. Each has:
- A price and currency (the organization's billing currency)
- A duration
- A payment requirement — required online, optional, at clinic, or not applicable
Slots are generated from a doctor's or department's schedule and the service's duration.
Currency
The organization sets the currency it charges in. A patient can pick a display currency to see an approximate conversion, but they're always charged in your currency, and the checkout shows that clearly.
