Documents and files

Upload test results, scans, and reports — file types and your storage quota.

You can attach files to your record — lab results, imaging reports, prescriptions, referral letters, discharge summaries.

Supported file types

VitaBoard accepts:

  • PDF
  • JPEG
  • PNG

The type is checked from the file's actual contents, not its name, so renaming a file to .pdf won't get it past the check. Support for medical imaging formats such as DICOM is planned for later.

Storage quota

Every person gets 1 GB of free storage. An upload that would take you over the limit is refused before it starts. A login-less dependent shares the storage pool of the family member who manages them.

Who can see your files

By default a file you upload is visible only to you. There are two ways a doctor sees a file:

  • You share a single file with a specific doctor — useful for a one-off consult or a second opinion, including with a doctor you haven't booked with.
  • The doctor has an active access grant on your record (see Sharing and access) and the file is part of what that grant covers.

Renaming and deleting files stays with you (and your guardian, for a dependent). A doctor who can see a file gets view and download only.

Secure access

Files are never served from a public link. Each view or download goes through a short-lived signed URL that expires quickly.
